Well i'm feeling kinda bored for the first time in awhile. Hubs is busy creating his masterpiece for tonights dinner with friends... my 9 year old is at a friend's house... and my little one is upstairs having a very lively and animated conversation with our two dogs and her stuffed animals.
I guess i'll quickly review Christmas. Christmas Eve was spent here with hubs, kids and my parents. I never woulda thought you'd find me in a church for mass Christmas Eve... but that is where we were the evening of the 24th. Even more bizarre my atheist parents came with us!! Okay so they are more agnostic these days. Just goes to show you never know what the future holds. Never say never.
Christmas Day was spent opening the mountain of presents for the kids of course. Just as much time was spent getting the presents out of the elaborate packaging everything comes in these days. For anyone that bothers reading the monday missions i did get a digital cam and an mp3/cd player to replace the one i broke. :) Santa threw in a cordless optical mouse too. :))
I haven't been able to install any of the software for them because my computor needs a major reboot and a good defrag. I haven't been able to reboot cause i've been in the middle of a browser based word game called bookworm and i'm way above my last high score by half a million points. Unfortunately i did have to give it up last night cause i couldn't even connect to the net anymore... no mail... no chat... no browser... no choice. :P
We went out for Christmas dinner to a local hotel. My parents spent Christmas Day with us as well. It's the fourth or fifth year we've gone out and passed up the work and mess of preparing Christmas dinner at home. I don't think that will be changing any time soon. The food is great and you can't beat not having to clean up. :)
Boxing day we just relaxed. The kids played with their toys and we played with ours. Some longtime friends came over in the evening for supper with their kids. We've been overdosing on movies over the holidays... one or two a night... we've enjoyed them all... Dragonfly... Epoch... Murder by Numbers... The Others... Imposter. Those are the ones i can remember and we have 5 more to go.
On the down side we woke up to garbage all over the house this morning. We totally forgot a bag of garbage we'd left at the front door and the dogs tore the whole thing apart during the night... grrrrrrrrrrr. The worst part was finding out they ate all the Bernard Callebaut chocoloates we'd left on the family room table. I was so choked when i saw that... they are absolutely the best chocolates you'll ever eat... ugggggggghhhh i can't believe they ate them and we were stupid enough to leave them out..
Well i'd like to do nothing for the rest of the day... maybe catch a nap... but i have to shower and clean up for dinner tonight with some friends... a couple we know through hubs work. They are two of my favorite people... so sweet and a lot of fun. They recently got two puppies... a german pincher and a miniature pincher... can't wait to see them again. :)) The miniature one is soooooo adorable. The other one is cute too but it's like ten jack russels rolled into one dog so it never sits still for a second so you can pay some attention to it.
So i guess i'd better get to work before i change my mind. :P

"I have heard it all my life,
A voice calling a name i recognized as my own.
Sometimes it comes as a soft bellied whisper.
Sometimes it holds an edge of urgency.
But always it says:
Wake up my love.
You are walking asleep.
There's no safety in that."
