I'm still sick... ugghhh... went from sore throat to coughing to a cough and cold now... makes me sleep even more than usual. Didn't stop our friends and their kids from all dropping by through out the afternoon today though.
Did i mention i found a new dog door? We usually switch it out every year in the fall before it gets too cold and we freeze... and before the mice move in. They only last about a year here with the low temps in winter... the magnets that keep the flaps shut fall off... and the rubber cracks and eventually the flaps fall right off.
The problem is finding the same one as we have now. Any other brand and it's a different size which means either making the hole in the door bigger or smaller and that's not an option. Too small and our dogs can't use it... too big and we'll be worrying about worse things than mice getting in.
Anyway i got really lucky and managed to find one... thanx to my mom who relates my problem to every employee in every store we went to... until some guy happened to remember he had one door in the back that they no longer carry. Not only was it the same brand as ours but the same size.
We haven't had any mice in the house since thank g*d. :))) We won't have to tolerate -30C winds blowing in this winter now either which will be rather nice. :P

"I have heard it all my life,
A voice calling a name i recognized as my own.
Sometimes it comes as a soft bellied whisper.
Sometimes it holds an edge of urgency.
But always it says:
Wake up my love.
You are walking asleep.
There's no safety in that."
