Moving on to Friday
I have this horrible feeling like i should have been there with my mom-in-law when she died... like i needed to be there...for me not neccesarily for her. She tried to talk to me the day before she died on the phone before she went into a coma but i couldn't really understand her... it was too difficult for her to talk. She said something about it being tough what she was going through... but not as tough as if she was at home with no nurse etc. She always did get right to the point.
I've known her for so long... been part of the family for more than twenty years... feel like i needed to say goodbye. Well it wasn't possible... the timing wasn't right... my kids needed me here so what can you do.
They're not really having a funeral. She didn't want one. She said she just wanted to be cremated and put in the ground next to her daughter in a little cemetary not even a block from where they lived. So that is what they will do.
Well as i said before life goes on and friday night i took all my daughters friend's out to supper for her birthday. Day 2 of a 3 day extravaganza... what was i thinking??? We've had this whole thing planned for awhile not knowing i would be doing it all alone. Supper out... come back here... play and dance for awhile... then sleepover. Unfortunately no one slept over.
We have tried the sleepover thing sooooo many times... it all sounds great while everyone is happy and playing but come ten o clock they all start crying and want to go home... lol. Fortunately only one friend even agreed to sleep over so after numerous phone calls home and various tactics to convince her to stay her poor mom had to throw her little brother in the car and come get her at midnight. "I have heard it all my life,
A voice calling a name i recognized as my own.
Sometimes it comes as a soft bellied whisper.
Sometimes it holds an edge of urgency.
But always it says:
Wake up my love.
You are walking asleep.
There's no safety in that."
