Mother/Daughter Heart/stroke Fund Walk
Well we did it. It was cloudy and windy and cold but it didn't rain thank G*d. Trying to get something to eat before the walk was the worst part... too windy and too cold to be eating cold cereal and bagels outside.
I came close to leaving. After we gave in our pledges and ate my 4 yr old was asking to go home and i'm thinking omg this just isn't going to work. I asked my 9 yr old if she wanted to go home and she said no. I was surprised and happy she said that so we stuck around and did the walk.
The walk went well... my knees were hurtin... i wasn't expecting that. I guess i'm not used to walking and pushing 80lbs of kid and stroller and a variety of other items we threw in the stroller for 5.5km... but it wasn't bad.
I slept for 3 hrs when we got home and coulda slept for 3 more... lol. It's been a busy 4 days... i'm glad it's all over.

"I have heard it all my life,
A voice calling a name i recognized as my own.
Sometimes it comes as a soft bellied whisper.
Sometimes it holds an edge of urgency.
But always it says:
Wake up my love.
You are walking asleep.
There's no safety in that."
